Licensed in VT, NH, NY, MA & ME
Russell “Rusty” Bellavance began his electrical career with Mick’s Electric in 1990. He started out as a laborer and quickly discovered that he had a strong desire to become an electrician, so he signed up for the VT Electrical Apprenticeship program and began his studies.
In 1992, the cold Vermont winters began to take their toll, and he decided to head for warmer ground, ultimately spending the next four years in Florida furthering his education and gaining valuable experience in the electrical industry. In addition to his electrical work, Rusty became a certified Diver.
After returning in 1996 to his hometown of Hardwick, VT, with a much darker tan and most of the knowledge required, he was ready to become a Journeyman Electrician. For the next 11 years, Rusty worked aggressively through his apprenticeship to successfully become a licensed Journeyman Electrician while working for Messier Electric & Ames Electric.
In 2007, Rusty decided that his best career choice was to join forces with MEI Electrical Contractors, and he quickly became part of the MEI team. Through MEI, he was able to complete all of the necessary requirements to become a Master Electrician in VT and NH. Rusty has also pursued, via MEI, his interest in fire alarm systems and now holds his T1 TQP (Technical Qualification Program) license for fire alarms. Rusty performs numerous annual inspections throughout the State and currently heads MEI’S Fire Alarm Division.
Throughout his electrical career, Rusty has gained certifications in multiple areas, such as: Fork & Arial Lift Training, CPR & First Aid, OSHA 10, Hilti-Power Actuated Tools, Hochiki Factory Training, NICET Certification, as well as various other online training for new products and services in the Fire Alarm field.
When Rusty is not out “silencing alarms” he is home spending much of his time with his wife and two children and their dogs, cats, chickens, and a rabbit. Rusty and his family are also avid gardeners, growing much of their own produce. He also enjoys a wide variety of activities, like hunting and fishing, gun collecting, skiing, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, camping, and maple sugaring.
