Introduction
Stephen Lockhart joined MEI in September 2025 to lead the Data, Telecom, and Security (DTS) systems integration division. In his role as a systems integrator, Stephen designs and implements integrated access-control and alarm systems, telecom networks, surveillance and video solutions, and secure infrastructure. His work connects devices, software, and processes to create reliable and scalable business systems tailored to organizational needs.
Expertise and Experience
With more than two decades of experience in managed technology services and IT consulting, Stephen is recognized as a thought leader in delivering practical and cost-effective technology solutions. He specializes in supporting small and mid-sized organizations, particularly those without internal IT resources or those requiring co-managed services. His areas of expertise include Microsoft systems administration, cloud infrastructure and applications, network engineering, multisite network design, as well as maintenance, monitoring, and IT security solutions for small businesses.
Key Achievements
Manufacturing Technology Rollout (2014-2015): Stephen led the rollout of a paperless production technology system for Farris Group, an ISO certified manufacturing client in Cherryville, NC. This initiative standardized part naming, enabled better control of waste and inventory, facilitated parallel assembly workflows, and improved quality control. As a result, the client achieved a 60% increase in manufacturing efficiency and more than doubled its capacity, all without the need for additional manufacturing staff or facility expansion.

Building a Managed IT Services Department (2016-2025): Beginning in 2016, Stephen developed a managed IT services department for Image Solutions, a managed print provider in Asheville, NC. Under his leadership, the department grew into a $3.5 million annual revenue managed service provider (MSP) by 2025. He was instrumental in recruiting and training the team, launching the firm’s largest client engagement with Premier Magnesia, a manufacturer of magnesium, Epsom salt and related products. He recruited and trained systems administrators, network engineering, and security staff that supported Premier Magnesia's growth from 2016 through their acquisition by early 2025. Stephen led Image Solutions' technical support staff and their technology sales team through their successful acquisition by a publicly traded investment firm in mid-2025. The acquisition of the company was a winning achievement of his career highlighting his success in building a strong department and brand proved his value in developing technology solutions that grow strong companies.
